NORTH HOLLYWOOD : Center to Offer Free Medical Screenings

Free medical screenings will be provided for adults at a city-sponsored health fair Thursday at the North Hollywood Senior Citizens Center, 11430 Chandler Blvd., from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A variety of medical professionals will be on hand to administer vision, hearing and blood pressure tests to anyone age 18 or older. Podiatrists, chiropractors and dentists will also screen visitors to the health fair, which is being sponsored by the city’s Park and Recreation Department’s senior citizen section.
Males 40 years or older may pay a $25 fee for a blood screening for prostate cancer. A blood chemistry test for heart disease and thyroid problems is also available for $20. A 12-hour fast prior to the blood chemistry tests is recommended.
