Body Found in Van Destroyed by Fire

Firefighters discovered a body inside a van in Winnetka on Sunday after dousing a fire that engulfed the vehicle, authorities said.
The body, believed to be that of a man, was found about 5:10 a.m. after firefighters put out the fire in the 20900 block of West Bryant Street, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Mike Little. He said the man may have been a transient living in the van.
The coroner’s office will determine the cause of death, authorities said. Los Angeles police detectives were investigating the incident as a possible homicide.
