Glendale : Fire Protection Tax Hike
A public meeting on a proposed fire protection assessment district is scheduled for tonight at the regular monthly forum conducted by Mayor Larry Zarian.
Fire Chief Richard Hinz will answer questions about a proposal to levy an annual property tax to raise $1.2 million.
City officials said the new tax is needed to maintain current fire services in the wake of declining city revenues.
The forum is scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. in the City Hall council chambers, 613 E. Broadway.
