Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies arrested a second suspect Wednesday in the fatal stabbing of a young man who was attacked by two panhandling passengers after the three of them got off a bus in the City of Industry.
Enrique Lizarraga, 23, of La Puente was arrested at 9:45 a.m. in the 16000 block of Bamboo Street in La Puente and booked on suspicion of murdering Juan Carlos Oviedo, 18, of Mexico, sheriff’s spokesman Gabe Ramirez said.
Shortly after Tuesday night’s crime, Jaime Armando, 22, a transient, was arrested and booked on suspicion of murder.
Oviedo died at Queen of the Valley Hospital in West Covina about half an hour after the 6:40 p.m. attack, sheriff’s spokesman Pat Hauser said.
Before following Oviedo off the bus, the men had been asking for money from each passenger on the Metropolitan Transportation Authority bus, Hauser said.
