Nation IN BRIEF : FLORIDA : Miami Prepares for Lozano Case Verdict

Miami, torn by race riots in the 1980s, braced for a verdict in the racially sensitive manslaughter retrial of a Latino Miami police officer whose shooting led to the death of a black motorcyclist and a passenger and touched off three days of rioting. In Orlando, where the trial is being held, Judge W. Thomas Spencer granted Miami police at least four hours to mobilize before the verdict is read. Closing arguments are expected today.
