Jordan’s King Hussein Gets Clean Bill of Health

ROCHESTER, Minn. — Follow-up tests on King Hussein of Jordan showed no traces of the cancer for which he was treated last year at Mayo Clinic, his physician said Saturday.
Tests taken at the medical center also showed that he was in excellent health overall, Dr. Samir Farraj said. Hussein, 57, was expected to leave Rochester today, a clinic spokeswoman added.
Hussein sought treatment last August after experiencing urinary tract bleeding. He was diagnosed as having cancer of the lining of the ureter, which connects the kidney to the bladder. The cancerous cells were removed, along with Hussein’s left kidney.
