A 28-year-old woman was being held Tuesday without bail in Van Nuys Jail on suspicion of murder in the shooting of her boyfriend.
Police said Suzanne Smith allegedly shot Randy Shipley, 32, of Canoga Park after the two apparently got into an argument in the parking lot of a North Hills gas station.
The shooting occurred about 7:15 p.m. Monday at a Mobil station in the 15000 block of Nordhoff Street, police said.
Los Angeles Police Detective Tony Foti said Shipley was shot once in the chest. He was taken to Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, where he was pronounced dead at 7:50 p.m.
