Glendale : Preschool Center Accredited
Glendale Community College’s Child Development Center has been accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs, a nationwide professional organization.
According to center director Linda Manzano-Larsen, the academy is the only early childhood professionals organization that accredits preschools.
Manzano-Larsen said the center applied for accreditation in August, 1992, beginning a yearlong process that involved an in-depth self-study, a visit from a validation team and a review by the organization’s board in Washington.
The center cares for 78 children ranging in age from 15 months to 5 years, with enrollment priority given to children of college students, staff and faculty. Community members are eligible for enrollment as space permits.
