A man who stepped outside a Moorpark theater Saturday night to stretch his legs was beaten and cut with a glass object by three assailants, Ventura County sheriff’s deputies said.
Earl Fanning, 57, told police that he left a theater performance after becoming restless, and that three men attacked him for no apparent reason about 10:10 p.m. behind businesses along West High Street, investigators said.
One man struck Fanning with his fist and another used a glass object to cause two puncture wounds, police said.
Fanning was treated at Simi Adventist Hospital and released, deputies said.
