LA HABRA : More Women Sought for Food Program
- Share via
More than 375 people are enrolled in a federally funded program that distributes food to low-income pregnant women and children under 6, but more recipients are being sought because of a large quantity of surplus food.
Proof of pregnancy, birth date and financial status are required to collect the 50-pound boxes filled with baby formula, canned fruits, dry milk, cheese and other goods.
The food boxes are distributed every third Thursday of the month at the La Habra Methodist Church on the southwest corner of Hillside Street and Pinehurst Avenue.
Residents of La Habra, Placentia, Yorba Linda, Brea and Fullerton who qualify for the program are encouraged to apply at the church on distribution days from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or at the Community Resource Care Center, 790 E. La Habra Blvd., La Habra, Monday through Friday from 1 to 5 p.m.
