Strike Halts Saturn Shipments: The labor action by truck transport workers has stopped deliveries of the General Motors Corp. car to dealers. The strike by Teamsters Local 327 at Transportation Unlimited Inc. of Cleveland began over the weekend because of a dispute over whether a vote of union representation was valid. Transportation Unlimited leases drivers to Quality Auto Transport, which is owned by Ryder Systems. Ryder handles all of Saturn’s over-the-road transport of incoming parts. “We’re not shipping cars very fast,” Saturn spokesman Bill Betts said. “Dealers are not in a bad situation right now, but this is holding up vehicles specially ordered by customers.”
