NORWALK — Construction of a Metrolink rail passenger station in Norwalk is scheduled to start in April, county officials said.
Two 500-foot-long platforms will be constructed to serve northbound and southbound traffic for Metrolink passengers traveling on the Orange County line between Oceanside and Burbank, Los Angeles County Supervisor Deane Dana said.
The project will include a 350-space parking area, a pedestrian underpass and a new intersection at Imperial Highway. The station also will allow passenger connections with regional and local bus systems when it opens in December, 1994.
The Orange County Metrolink line will have stops in Oceanside, San Juan Capistrano, Irvine, Santa Ana, Orange, Anaheim, Fullerton and Commerce.
