North Hollywood High clinched its second consecutive at-large berth in the City Section 3-A Division playoffs, but few Husky fans will benefit, according to Coach Gary Gray.
University (4-6) will play host to North Hollywood (4-6) today in a first-round game. But, University’s home field does not have lights, so University officials suggested a day game. North Hollywood balked, saying that a day game posed too many problems.
After a tug-of-war between school administrators, University opted to play the game at Palisades High. Problem is, Palisades officials will not allow games to start at 7 o’clock or later. Therefore, kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
“These playoffs are meant for spectators and there isn’t enough time to get out there (to Palisades),” Gray said. “That’s my main complaint.”
