OUTLOOK
“This will be a difficult year,” said Brodowski, whose team struggled last year, finishing seventh in the league with a record of 5-15. And though the team is loaded with seniors, Brodowski said the Matadors are not very big or quick and don’t have the necessary experience. “We just don’t have that game experience,” he said. As it stands now, Brodowski is not certain of his starting line. Right now, he has Pula play center or forward, Bryant and Mai, who is a junior, will play guard, Nga Nguyen at forward or guard and Bernice Wilson at center. Like last year, the Matadors are desperately in need of height as their tallest player is 5 foot 9. Question marks also surround Lisa Nguyen and Sagiao, neither of whom played last year. The Madadors will also need someone to take charge on the court. So, is there any glimmer of hope? “We had a competitive summer league,” Brodowski said. “So hopefully, it will provide some positive results.”
