SOUTHERN SECTION FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS : Sites Determined for Second-Round Games

Los Alamitos and Edison, two of Orange County’s top-ranked teams, will face each other in the second round of the Southern Section Division II football playoffs. The game will likely be played at Orange Coast College, as Edison won the coin flip Saturday to determine the home site.
Los Alamitos (11-0), the top-seeded team in the division, was the No. 1-ranked team in Orange County for the second consecutive year. The Griffins defeated Downey Warren, 24-13, in the first round, extending their unbeaten streak to 32 games.
Edison (9-2), which is unseeded, was the county’s sixth-ranked team. The Chargers’ only losses were to No. 2 Huntington beach and No. 7 Capistrano Valley. They defeated Canyon Country Canyon, 40-20, in the first round.
In other Division II games, Fountain Valley will play El Dorado at Valencia High School and Huntington Beach will be at Cerritos Gahr. All games are at 7:30 p.m.

Division I--Long Beach Poly vs. Mater Dei at Santa Ana Stadium; San Clemente at Encino Crespi.
Division IV--Sherman Oaks Notre Dame vs. Villa Park at El Modena High School; Foothill at Irvine.
Division VI--Valencia at Santa Fe Springs Santa Fe; Covina at Savanna; Whittier at Anaheim; Western at Pomona Ganesha.
Division VII--Baldwin Park Sierra Vista at Rancho Alamitos; Kennedy at Van Nuys Montclair Prep.
Division VIII--Costa Mesa at Riverside Norte Vista; Bellfower at Trabuco Hills; Yucaipa vs. Laguna Hills at Mission Viejo High School.
Division X--Brethren Christian at Cathedral City.
