Burbank’s Compact Video Reorganized, Renamed

The former Compact Video, which was acquired by an investment group led by Steinhardt Partners of New York last August, has been reorganized and renamed Four Media Co., or 4MC.
The reorganization included combining the Burbank video post-production firm into one unit with its former subsidiaries, Image Transform and Meridian Studios.
Compact Video was one of the largest post-production firms, but a 1988 management-led leveraged buyout left it burdened with debt. The terms of the sale to Steinhardt were not disclosed.
