In another Century League games:
Canyon 3, Orange 1--Annette Bailey hit a two-out, two-run triple in the third inning as Canyon (10-4, 2-0) kept pace in the league race. Veronica Lopez (8-4) pitched a four-hitter, striking out five and giving up her first run in 23 innings.
In the Empire League:
El Dorado 5, Katella 3--El Dorado scored twice in the fifth inning on squeeze bunts. Jenni Terrell scored on Carmen LoNigro’s bunt and Nikki Hart scored on a bunt by Stacy Schaner.
Los Alamitos 4, Loara 2--With the scored tied, 2-2, two on and two out in the bottom of the sixth inning, shortstop Michelle Schneider hit a single to center for Los Alamitos (13-3, 2-0). Sheri Bergeron, who was three for three, led off the inning with a double for the Griffins, ranked second in the county.
In the Freeway League:
Fullerton 1, La Habra 0 (11)--Angie Fancuberta pitched 11 innings and drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 11th for Fullerton (8-11, 2-0).
In the Garden Grove League:
Kennedy 3, Bolsa Grande 0--Lisa Pitt pitched her third no-hitter of the season, striking out five for Kennedy (12-4, 4-0).
La Quinta 5, Rancho Alamitos 0--Kelly McLaughlin struck out eight and gave up one hit to record her third consecutive shutout and improved to 8-2 for La Quinta (12-4, 5-1).
In the Orange League:
Magnolia 3, Western 2--Sophia Garcia doubled and scored for Magnolia (8-6, 1-1).
In the Pacific Coast League:
Trabuco Hills 3, Laguna Beach 0--Natalie Galasso struck out six and gave up three hits to record the shutout and improve to 5-6 for Trabuco Hills. Theresa Summa had two hits and scored one run for Trabuco Hills (5-8, 1-1).
