Telephone ticket sales for one of the crown jewels of Europe’s summer opera season--the Glyndebourne Festival in Lewes, England--begin Wednesday.
Ticket prices for the season that opens May 28 range from about $15 to $150 and include, for the first time, 40 standing-room tickets. Performances will take place in a new $50-million opera house.
To order summer opera tickets by phone, call the box office at 011-44-0273-813813. For a little more than $4.50, you can have your name added to a mailing list for advance notice of productions. Information on the season and intermission dining is available by calling or writing the Glyndebourne Festival, Lewes, East Sussex, BN8 5UU.
