NEWPORT BEACH — Firefighters quickly extinguished an early morning fire that caused an estimated $50,000 damage Sunday in an East Bluff townhouse, a Fire Department spokesman said.
The fire broke out at 3:58 a.m. at the home of Richard Cooling and his wife in the 400 block of Vista Trucha. With 29 firefighters on the scene, the blaze was controlled in 25 minutes, and no injuries were reported.
The fire is believed to have started in a garage workshop, and most of the damage was confined to the garage.
