East Ventura County sheriff’s detectives are offering a $1,000 reward for the identify of a man who mugged a Thousand Oaks woman Sept. 12 outside The Oaks mall.
The man is described as having blond hair and a tattoo around his right wrist that depicts barbed wire, and wearing a green plaid shirt and heavy boots. The woman was robbed as she got into her car at 12:45 p.m.
Authorities said he approached the woman from behind, told her he had a gun, and forced her to hand over $35,000 worth of jewelry. Sheriff’s officials said they hope a passerby saw the crime or the suspect as he fled.
The reward is part of the Sheriff Department’s Ventura County Crime Stoppers program. People who call with information can remain anonymous and if the information leads to an arrest with a criminal court complaint, the caller will receive the reward.
Crime Stoppers’ phone number is 494-TALK in Moorpark and Thousand Oaks, 987-TALK in Camarillo, 385-TALK in Oxnard and 986-TALK in Port Hueneme.
