PREP ROUNDUP : Corona del Mar Knocks Off No. 2 Newport Harbor

Jenny Glasgow and Christie O’Meara swept their doubles sets, 6-4, 6-1, 6-2, to lead eighth-ranked Corona del Mar to an 11-7 victory over No. 2 Newport Harbor in a Sea View League tennis match Wednesday at Newport Harbor.
Sarah Hawkins swept at singles, 6-1, 6-4, 6-2, for Newport Harbor (5-2, 1-1). Corona del Mar is 6-3, 2-0.
In Freeway League girls’ tennis:
Sunny Hills 15, Fullerton 3-Senior Dana Rudolph of Sunny Hills (3-6, 2-0) swept through match play, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0 as the Lancers remained undefeated in league play.
Troy 15, La Habra 3--Dana Kim of Troy swept her sets in No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-3, 6-1. Troy improves to 4-5, 1-1.
In Orange League tennis:
Brea-Olinda 18, Anaheim 0--Aimee Kenny won all three sets 6-0 as Brea-Olinda (8-5, 2-1) won all but three games to Anaheim.
Valencia 11, Magnolia 7--Jessica Wilson swept at singles, 6-1, 6-3, 6-0, for visiting Valencia (5-5, 3-0).
In nonleague tennis:
Canyon 10, Rosary 8--Canyon’s doubles team of Gabby Alvarado and Aimee Koshinski trailed 0-5, in their second set, but rallied to win, 7-5, for sixth-ranked Canyon (11-0).
Edison 17, Foothill 1--Junior Kelly Foster swept through her opponents 6-0, 6-0, 6-0 for the Chargers (5-4, 1-0) in a nonleague match.
El Toro 15, Laguna Hills 3--Stephanie Maldini and Jenny Le, El Toro’s No. 1 doubles team swept all three of their games, 6-4, 6-0, 6-4.
Peninsula 17, Marina 1--Kerry Giarclino defeated all three of her opponents as the visiting Panthers won. The Panthers are the top-ranked team in Division I.
In the Golden West League girls’ volleyball:
Ocean View 3, Rosary 1--The Sea Hawks came back after a 13-15 defeat in the first game and beat Rosary, 15-14, 15-8, 15-10. Beth Henshaw led Ocean View with 16 kills and Katie Lindquist had 36 digs. Traci Johnson had 13 kills for Rosary (1-5, 0-1). Ocean View remains undefeated at 5-0, 1-0.
Tustin 3, Saddleback 0--Stacey Pederson had 11 kills for Tustin (4-3, 1-0), which won, 15-2, 15-5, 17-15.
