SANTA ANA — One man was killed late Friday when a van collided with another vehicle as the van’s driver tried to change lanes on South Fairview Street, police said.
The van’s driver, 28-year-old Antonio Camacho of Santa Ana, was arrested on suspicion of felony drunk driving and suspicion of manslaughter, Sgt. Eric Vedborg said.
The victim, who had not been identified Saturday, was riding in a 1974 Ford van that was traveling north when Camacho tried to change lanes in the 1300 block of South Fairview shortly before midnight, police said.
The van struck the other vehicle, which was traveling in the same direction, and then crashed into a light pole, Vedborg said. No one in the other vehicle was injured.
