LOS ANGELES : City Council OKs 2% Raise for Department Managers
- Share via
The Los Angeles City Council approved a 2% salary increase for department general managers, matching the raises most other city workers got earlier this year.
But agency chiefs will not automatically receive the 2% raise that other workers get next year. Mayor Richard Riordan and the council are considering modifications in the merit pay plan for general managers. The council also approved a 9% raise over three years for some managers and non-union employees of the Department of Water and Power. Union workers won a 9% raise after striking last fall.
The salary package approved today covers 1,100 full-time and 7,100 part- time employees but excludes DWP managers who earn more than $70,000 a year.
