Coach: Bobby Bruch (fourth year).
1993-94: 28-0-1, 11-0-1 in the Sunset League; won its second consecutive Division I championship, defeating Palos Verdes Peninsula, 3-1, in the title game.
Key returners: Jenny Benson, forward, Jr.; Cassandra Campbell, forward, Sr.; Marcy Crouch, defender, Sr.; Shannon Cuthbertson, midfielder, Sr.; Gina Giallonardo, stopper, Sr.; Jennifer Kierstead, defender, Sr.; Megan Orach, forward, So.; Kristen Palmer, midfielder, Sr.; Jennifer Simmons, goalkeeper, Sr.
Key newcomers: Heather Cuthbertson, midfielder, Fr.; Jessica Duggan, utility, Fr.; Anne Giallonardo, midfielder, So.; Kelly Wilkins, midfielder, Jr.
Outlook: Marina extended its unbeaten string to 40 games last week and the Vikings seem to have the team to keep it going. Campbell, The Times’ county player of the year, and Crouch, the Division I defensive MVP, are only tips of the iceberg. Bruch has three other first-team all-league players and three second-team players at his disposal. Make that four first-teamers when Benson recovers from knee surgery.
