BOYS’ BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Edison Edges Rialto in Coast Classic

Darren Wynns’ off-balance jumper from the free-throw line with four seconds remaining won the championship for Edison, which beat Rialto, 48-47, in the Coast Classic Friday at Estancia High.
Ryan Langdon scored 17 points for Edison (10-6) and was named Tournament Most Valuable Player.
In the third-place game:
Dana Hills 65, Irvine 57--Donald Meyers scored 21 points to lead Dana Hills (7-6). A.J. Riveria led Irvine with 17 points.
In other tournament games:
Long Beach Jordan 59, Huntington Beach 36--The Oilers were outscored, 29-12, in the second half after trailing by five at halftime in the consolation championship game. Jeff Fullbright led Huntington Beach (7-6) with 16 points.
In a consolation game:
Estancia 58, Antioch 48--Chris Candlish scored 17 points to lead Estancia (13-3), which led, 31-25, at the half. Marcus Murray, brother of Los Angeles Clipper player Lamond Murray, scored 18 points for Antioch.
Thousand Oaks 56, Corona del Mar 54--Corona del Mar led by 15 at halftime, but was outscored, 37-20, in the second half. Joel Owen and Darren MacDonald had 11 points each to lead the Sea Kings (8-6).
In the Canyon tournament:
Cypress 60, Century 51--Chad Boberg had 17 points and Derek Mitchell and Eric Solheim had 11 points each to lead Cypress (12-3) for third place. Senior Vibol Ros had 22 points for Century (9-6).
El Modena 83, Magnolia 67--The Vanguards won the consolation championship, led by Ryan Villmer with 19 points and eight rebounds.
In consolation games:
Bolsa Grande 44, Loara 42 (OT)--With the score tied, 42-42, Bolsa Grande’s Dinh Tan sunk a reverse layup with less than a minute on the clock, giving the Matadors (6-6) seventh place.
Marcus McBride led both teams in rebounding with 11 for Loara (7-7).
In a Mountain View St. Francis boys’ basketball tournament consolation game:
University 54, Sunnyvale Fremont 40--The Trojans took a 21-12 first-quarter lead and never let up to finish in seventh place. Fred Sears had 12 points and Nathan Scoggin 11 to lead University (4-10).
In nonleague boys’ basketball:
Capistrano Valley Christian 76, Oceanside Tri-City Christian 71--Andrew Jennings scored 26 points and had 10 rebounds and Tamer Ghosheh had 27 points and eight rebounds for Capistrano Valley Christian (7-4).
