Yamaha Motor Corp. USA: The firm said Thursday it has acquired Cobia Boat Co., a Vonore, Tenn., manufacturer of fiberglass recreation boats. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Yamaha, which makes motors and boating accessories, has been a shareholder of Cobia since it invested in the company in August, 1993, to help finance Cobia’s expansion.
Ed Atchley, president of Cobia, will become a consultant to Yamaha.
