Deadline Monday for FEMA Relief

Monday is the deadline for victims of recent storms to apply for Federal Emergency Management Agency assistance.
Applicants can call (800) 462-9029 between 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily through Monday. Those seeking information about disaster programs or applications should call the Information Helpline at (800) 525-0321 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
Assistance is restricted to those who suffered losses in regions declared disaster areas by President Clinton between Jan. 3 and Feb. 10.
Applicants should provide the address of affected property and directions, along with their home telephone number, Social Security number and estimated family income.
Assistance may include reimbursement for rent, home repairs, mortgage, low-interest disaster loans for homes, personal property and business, and grants for needs not met through other disaster relief programs.
