What: Trustees will meet to draft a letter that will be sent to parents, explaining the district’s proposal to raise transportation fees.

Los Alamitos

City Council meeting

Where: Council chambers, 3191 Katella Ave.

What: The City Council will consider various traffic and street improvement projects, including a request for $23,000 from the Orange County Transportation Authority to pay for the cost of designing a traffic signal connecting Cerritos Avenue from Knott Avenue to Los Alamitos Boulevard. The council also will consider awarding separate contracts to two engineering firms for alley and street improvements.

What: The school board will receive an update on the Orange County bankruptcy and vote on its second interim budget report.

Huntington Beach

Huntington Beach Union High School District board meeting

When: Tuesday, 7:30 p.m.

Where: District office, 10251 Yorktown Ave.

What: The board will have a public hearing on more than $1 million in proposed budget cuts for the 1995-96 school year. The cuts are needed because of declining school enrollment and lost interest from money invested in the bankrupt county investment pool.
