It has absolutely nothing to do with Monday’s final, but, for the record, UCLA and Arkansas have met twice previously in basketball, splitting the two games.
The last meeting was in 1978, in the West Regional semifinal, with Arkansas winning, 74-70. That was the year Cal State Fullerton went farther in the playoffs than UCLA.
Roy Hamilton led the Bruins with 19 points, followed by David Greenwood with 17 and Darrell Allums with 12.
Marvin Delph scored 23 points and Sidney Moncrief 21 for the Razorbacks, who were coached by Eddie Sutton.
J.R. Henderson was 16 months old at the time.
