OXNARD : Plan Would Unite 2 Drug Recovery Centers
- Share via
To cut operating costs, two Ventura County alcohol and drug treatment centers for pregnant women and mothers could be combined at one location in Oxnard under a proposal being considered by the Board of Supervisors.
The county currently operates two recovery centers--which include child-care services--in Oxnard and Ventura. Under the proposal before county supervisors, the centers would be combined at one location at 315 N. A St. in Oxnard.
By combining the two centers, the county would save money on rent, utilities, equipment and child-care salaries, officials said. The monthly savings on rent alone would be more than $1,600.
The Board of Supervisors is scheduled to consider the proposal at its Tuesday meeting.
