Mothers won’t be the only ones celebrating on Sunday.
The Israeli community of Los Angeles will stage its own party at Hansen Dam Park in Lake View Terrace to mark the 47th anniversary of Israel’s independence.
About 5,000 people are expected to take part in the event, scheduled from noon to 5 p.m., and is being organized by the Council of Israeli Organizations and the Israeli Consulate in Los Angeles.
There will be carousels and art projects for the youngsters, and Israeli folk dancing for the adults. Plenty of Israeli food will also be available.
Mothers won’t be neglected, either, as organizers have planned a special fashion show to display swimsuits from Beverly Hills boutiques.
