Ran the fastest time (12.11 wind-aided) in the county this season. Won the county and Sea View League titles and finished fourth at the section Division II finals.
MEISHA WILSON-DUVAL
200, 400 Meters
Woodbridge, Sr.
Undefeated in the county at 200 (24.61 wind-aided) and 400 meters (55.40). Swept through the county championships and Sea View League finals. Won section Division II 400 title.
ASHLEY BETHEL
100 Meter Hurdles
Mission Viejo, Fr.
The freshman made the most of her inaugural prep track season, capping it with a third-place finish at the State finals with a personal-best time of 14.19 seconds.
INSHIRAH JONES
300 Intermediate Hurdles
Esperanza, Sr.
Orange County Championships winner by more than a second. Won Sunset League title and finished fifth at the Division I finals. Ran a personal-best 44.60.

Guided team back after his first-ever dual-meet loss (83-1 in 14 years)--against Edison--to dominate the Orange County Championships and Sunset League.

800, 1,600, 3,200 Meters
Esperanza, Sr.
Won Orange County Championships titles in the 800-, 1,500- and 3,000-meter races, then captured the 1,600 and 3,200 at the Southern Section Division I and Masters Meet. Ran 4:50.47 for 1,600 and 10:14.48 for 3,200, the latter a county record. At the State finals, finished second in the 1,600 and third in the 3,200.

400 Meter Relay, Woodbridge
Lowered the Orange County record on three occasions this season. Finished third at Division II finals and sixth at the Masters Meet, despite a season’s best 47.13.

Qualified for the Masters Meet with a county-leading time of 3:55.33. Won at the Sea View League finals and finished third in the Southern Section Division II race.

High Jump
Laguna Hills, So.
Although injured, she managed to win the county championship, finish second at Division II finals, fourth at Masters Meet and fifth at State finals. Her best: 5-9.
TARA OETTINGER
Long Jump
Foothill, Sr.
Overcame early-season back injury. Jumped wind-aided 19-9 to make State finals, where defending champion finished fourth. Won Division II title. Will attend Stanford.
KELLY O’CONNOR
Triple Jump
Esperanza, Sr.
Only county girl to win a State title, she broke the county record with a leap of 40-6 1/2. Also won at Division I and Sunset League finals and county championships.
JENNI CANDIPAN
Pole Vault
Marina, Sr.
In the first season this event has been scored separately for the girls, she won Sunset League, Division I and Masters Meet titles. Her jump of 10-2 is a county record.
MARIE PHILMAN
Shotput
Edison, Jr.
Great all-around athlete was county’s most consistent performer. Finished second at the Masters Meet, third at the Division I finals, and ninth at the State finals.
CARA HEADS

Newport Harbor, Sr.
Posted county’s best mark at 149-5. Was fifth at State finals, third at Masters Meet, second at Division II finals and won at the Orange County Championships.
