One Vote in Favor of FCC Chairman Hundt
We met recently with FCC Chairman Reed Hundt to discuss issues of interest to the entertainment community.
In contrast to the picture presented in “A Rising Star Begins to Dim” (July 6), we found Chairman Hundt to be thoughtful, communicative and pragmatic, as he sought common ground on a variety of issues. If, as the article states, his influence appears to have waned since last fall, he is fighting the battle that anyone in his party has waged since November’s election.
The current radical transformation of the telecommunications markets offers important and exciting opportunities for business and consumers. Chairman Hundt was eager to work with us and to use our knowledge and experience, as the FCC pursues creative, productive solutions to regulatory problems. This is in the best interest of all Americans and is the mark not of a bureaucrat, but of a dynamic leader.
