Southeast : DROPPING CRIME

For the second quarter in a row, crime is down in Long Beach from 1994 levels.
For the first six months of this year, crime dropped by 8.1%, Mayor Beverly O’Neill announced Tuesday, with the most violent category of crime--including murder, rape, robbery and assault--falling by 11.1%.
Incidents of auto theft showed the biggest drop, falling by 27%.
