A Taco Bell in downtown Ventura was robbed Tuesday morning by a former employee carrying a handgun, police said.
The man, described by police as in his late teens or early 20s, walked into the Taco Bell in the Mission Plaza shopping center displaying a semiautomatic handgun about 9:30 a.m.
He walked behind the counter and demanded money and pointed the gun at a manager’s face when confronted. He fled with an unspecified amount of cash, police said.
There were no injuries. Police are searching for the robber, whom they declined to identify.
