Jobless Rate Rises in O.C

Orange County unemployment jumped from 5.5% in June to 5.9% in July, due mostly to school closing. That matched this year’s highest rate, previously recorded in May. More significant than the overall rate increase was the loss of 900 manufacturing jobs after that sector had two consecutive months of growth. Story on D1
