The Right Start Joins Internet Shopping Network

Catalogue merchandiser the Right Start Inc. has become the first electronic store on the Internet Shopping Network, an on-line retail service formed two years ago to sell name-brand merchandise to Internet-connected customers.
Right Start, based in Westlake Village, will sell its gifts, toys and accessories for infants and toddlers over the network, a division of cable television’s Home Shopping Network. Internet Shopping Network also offers computer products from Lotus and Microsoft, FTD flowers, gift items from Hammacher-Schlemmer and other merchandise.
The electronic store is part of Right Start’s expansion beyond its core mail-order business, which has suffered from growing competition, and higher printing and mailing costs.
The company also has 12 retail stores, most of which were opened in the past year.
