Monrovia 56, La Canada 8--Justin Yuille rushed 13 times for 135 yards and four touchdowns to lead Monrovia (7-2-1, 4-1) at La Canada. The victory clinched second place in the league for the Wildcats. Yuille scored on runs of 38, 26, 23 and 11 yards.
Mike Waters added 143 yards and two touchdowns in 13 carries. Monrovia rushed for 292 yards. After Waters opened the scoring on a 28-yard run, the Wildcats went up 14-0 when DeRon Turner picked off a Todd Crane pass and returned it seven yards for a score.
The Spartans (5-2, 2-3) avoided the shutout with 9:32 to go in the first half, when Sam Paneno scored on a six-yard run. Paneno finished with 110 yards in 24 carries. Crane completed five of 10 passes for 50 yards and he threw two interceptions, both of which were returned for touchdowns.
