Firm Unveils a New Line of Superchargers

Paxton Superchargers Inc., a Camarillo producer of systems for adding zip to cars, dragsters and trucks, says it has developed kits that can be ordered by buyers of new Dodge Ram pickups and Jeep Grand Cherokees.
The superchargers, called the Granatelli Signature Series, are designed to provide increased horsepower and quicker pickup. Paxton is owned by members of the family of Andy Granatelli, the famed Indy 500 racer.
Even though they provide extra horsepower, the superchargers meet emissions standards in all 50 states, according to Paxton.
The company says its relationship with Dodge, whose dealers distribute Jeeps as well as Dodges, dates back three decades.
In the late 1960s, the Granatellis modified a Dodge V-8 engine for use in the Indianapolis 500 race. In the 1970s, Paxton supplied supercharger kits for some Dodge cars.
