Latino Voter Drive Seeks Volunteers
Volunteers are being sought for a voter-registration campaign aimed at drawing Latinos to the polls in coming elections.
El Concilio del Condado de Ventura is sponsoring the nonpartisan effort, which targets newly sworn-in citizens and others in Oxnard, El Rio and Santa Paula.
Volunteers meet at 10:30 a.m. Saturdays at Heritage Square, 715 S. A St., in Oxnard. A major push is being planned for Feb. 17 and 24.
On those days, volunteers will go door to door in targeted precincts to sign up people to vote. They will stay out until the early afternoon and receive lunch at a local restaurant.
