FULLERTON — Rochelle Esparza, the Southern Section Division I most valuable volleyball player this past season, is among four who have signed to play at Cal State Fullerton, Titan Coach Mary Ellen Murchison said Monday.
Esparza, a 5-foot-8 outside hitter, led Manhattan Beach Mira Costa High to the Southern Section Division I championship. Mira Costa advanced to the semifinals of the state tournament before losing to Stockton St. Mary’s. Esparza also plays for the South Bay Volleyball Club.
Three community college all-conference players also signed with Fullerton. They are LaCretia Smith, a 5-9 outside hitter from El Camino; Katy Gayton, a 5-10 outside hitter from Fullerton; and Kahealani Smith, a 5-11 hitter from Sacramento City.
