Clinton Nominates 4 for Ambassadorships

WASHINGTON — President Clinton has offered four nominations for ambassadors to the Philippines, Brunei, Iceland and Cyprus.
Clinton named Thomas C. Hubbard, 53, an assistant secretary of state for East Asian and Pacific affairs, as his nominee for ambassador to the Philippines and Palau.
He also nominated Glen Robert Rase as ambassador to Brunei. Rase is now director of the Office of International Energy and Commodities Policy.
Day Olin Mount, 55, was nominated as ambassador to Iceland. Kenneth Brill, 49, was nominated as ambassador to Cyprus. Mount is director of the Office of Environmental Policy and Brill is executive secretary of the State Department.
