GARDEN GROVE — An afternoon blaze sparked by a stove burner destroyed a two-bedroom mobile home Monday, displacing the residents, said fire and Red Cross officials.
The 1:40 p.m. fire in the 13100 block of Partridge Street started after a resident left a pan on a lit electric burner and went to work about 8 a.m., fire officials said.
It took 18 firefighters about 20 minutes to control the fire, which engulfed the back half of the home in flames and destroyed the rest with smoke and heat damage. Fire officials estimated the loss at about $25,000.
The Orange County Red Cross is providing motel vouchers, food and clothing to the residents--a 54-year-old woman and her 64-year-old husband, said Red Cross spokeswoman Judy Iannaccone.
