PTA members and their families from across the county will attend a Recognition Gala at 4 p.m. today at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa.
Presented by the county’s 4th District chapter of the Parent-Teacher Assn., the free event will include a preview of Meggopolis, an inflatable structure that features lights, entertainment and cavern-like tunnels for parents and children to explore.
A dinner reception will honor the winners of the PTA’s countywide Reflections Contest and Poster Contest for students.
Bonnie Engstrom, public relations director for the 4th District PTA, said the purpose of the event is not only to recognize students but to celebrate the PTA and its role in volunteerism.
