34 Illegal Immigrants Kept in Horse Trailer

ATLANTA — Thirty-four suspected illegal immigrants from Mexico spent about three days crammed into a horse trailer before being freed by authorities early Wednesday. The driver was found sleeping at a motel nearby.
The trailer was 8 by 20 feet, said officials of the Immigration and Naturalization Service, who were called to Days Inn by police.
“There wasn’t enough room for those 34 people to sit down at the same time,” said INS spokesman Fred Alexander.
