KINTNERSVILLE, Pa. — Three children were missing and presumed drowned Monday after they were swept away by the Delaware River as they played along its banks during a family picnic.
The children, all from Bethlehem, fell into the water Sunday with three of their cousins. Fishermen pulled the cousins to safety but were unable to save Victor Rivas Jr., 10, and his sisters, Madelina, 11, and Joseanna, 8.
The children’s father said he and other adults had walked down the road to get fishing bait when they heard women screaming.
