To the extent Straw is known at all, it’s for the company she has kept. She has recorded with Michael Stipe, Richard Thompson, Wilco and, most extensively, the Golden Palominos. On her second solo album, she teams with the fine Missouri roots band the Skeletons for a richly tuneful, occasionally transcendent collection of smart rock for grown-ups. Straw plays the Roxy on Saturday.
