Record Four Goals for Diaz Arce

Raul Diaz Arce set a Major League Soccer record Sunday, scoring four goals for D.C. United, which routed the Dallas Burn, 6-1, before 11,244 at Washington.
Diaz Arce, who leads the first-year league with 14 goals, opened the scoring in the third minute and added three goals in a 15-minute span early in the second half.
Colorado 2, Columbus 1--Scott Benedetti scored in the 83rd minute to give the Rapids the victory before 7,911 at Denver.
Roy Wegerle set up the winning goal, beating a defender and centering to Benedetti for a header.
Colorado’s Steve Trittschuh and Columbus’ Robert Warzycha also scored.
