Jay Transfers to Ventura College

Ramsey Jay, who set a Ventura County record of 47.49 seconds in the 400 meters for Ventura High in 1994, has transferred from USC to Ventura College.
Jay, a sophomore, placed fourth in the 400 in the 1994 State championships and won five individual Ventura County titles during his career.
Ventura College track Coach Tuck Mason said he didn’t know why Jay chose to leave USC.Jay could not be reached for comment.
Football
Top-level Cal State Northridge administrators will meet with Matador football Coach Dave Baldwin and Athletic Director Paul Bubb on Tuesday to discuss the possibility of further discipline resulting from the cover-up of running back Shayne Blakey’s gunshot wound.
Baldwin admitted last week that he lied by saying Blakey had undergone an appendectomy. Baldwin and Bubb have since apologized.
Soccer
Cal State Northridge forward Marrica Pichaikul was declared academically ineligible and did not play Friday night in the Matadors’ season opener against Cal State Los Angeles.
Golf
Chris Zambri of Camarillo shot a seven-under-par 65 to finish third in the California State Open at Indian Wells Country Club.
