Servite marched through the league without a problem and it is expected to do the same this season. Servite’s closest margin of victory was a rather sloppy 14-point victory over Ocean View in the second to last regular-season game. Its average margin of victory over league opponents was 26 points. The Friars took a 10-game winning streak into the Division V championship game, where they were beaten by El Toro, 27-17. The big battle in the league was for second place, where Tustin edged out Westminster. Both lost in the opening round of the playoffs. Saddleback hurt its chances when it tied Tustin, 14-14, in a league opener, then fell to Westminster, 41-28. Ocean View Coach John Donnelly resigned with a three-year record of 5-25. Santa Ana’s Robert Hinman left after posting a 5-35 record in four years.
